The Bunaken Marine Park

Bunaken is one of exotic islands in Indonesia. It is about 8,08 km2 in area. All of Bunaken area is about 75.265 ha with five island surrounding it, they are Old Manado island , Bunaken island, Siladen island, Mantehage island, and Naen island. Then diving location is limited in every beach which surrounding all of five island. Bunaken is located in manado bay, in north Sulawesi island, Indonesia.

Bunaken is part of Manado city, the capital of province North Sulawesi, Indonesia. It can reached with speed boat or a boat rental is about 30 second from the Manado port or about 7 mil from Manado port. In Bunaken village, there are Bunaken marine park which is part of Bunaken national park. This bunaken marine park has marine biodiversity that is one of the highest marine biodiversity in the world.

The Bunaken marine park has 20 dive spot with the varies depht until 1.344 meters. From that 20 dive spot, 12 of them are located around the Bunaken island. This 12 dive spots are which the most popular and the most visited by diver and marine lovers.

In this 12 dive spot of the bunaken island there is underwater great walls or hanging walls, it is the giant rock walls that stand vertically and curved upward which also be food source for fish in the waters around Bunaken Island, with temperatures ranging between 27-29oC. It has a high diversity-coral, fish, echinoderms,or sponge.

The Bunaken Marine park is constitute waters and maritime tourism location, which are water / sea and coast. Tourism activities that can be done is like enjoying the Sea Park with sightseeing on catamaran, snorkeling, diving, and underwater photography, and also sunbathe and beach picnic.
Available facilities are catamaran, diving center, cottage, restaurant, verandah, and souvenir kiosk, etc.
