Rajasthan is a land of superb architecture. The most attractive feature of the state is the Rajasthan havelis and palaces. Palaces were located on high tops of the hill, in the center of vast deserts and on islands in lakes Most of the former rulers of Rajasthan built palaces as their residence. These palaces were adorned with elaborate and exquisite architecture. Not only the rulers of Rajasthan, but the rich merchant class also built massive residences. These mansions are luxuriously decorated and are known as Palace.
Many palaces in Rajasthan but The City palace of Jaipur and Lake Palace and City Palace of Udaipurare most famous palaces in Rajasthan.

City Palace of Jaipur:

The City Palace was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs, but a lot of changes and additions were made to the original structure by his successors rulers. City Palace stands apart, with its outstanding art and architecture from other palaces. The architecture of the City Palace is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. The Complex comprises of many structures, courtyards, gardens and buildings. Many impressive small palaces and halls in the complex, such as the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and Badal Mahal and a famous temple called the Shri Govind Temple and a museum inside, called by City Palace Museum.

City palace of Udaipur: 

Udaipur City Palace boasts of the wonderful blend of Medieval, European and Chinese Architecture, located peacefully on the banks of Lake Pichola. The Palace has various towers, domes and arches, which add to the flavor of heritage site. It is truly a feast to the eyes. Maharana Udai Singh built this superb wonder, but the present form of the Palace is the result of subsequent additions by his successors. City Palace has several gates that are known as "Pols". 'Bara Pol' (Great Gate) is the main gate to the City Palace by passing Bara pol after that across a triple arched gate, which is known as 'Tripolia' and Across 'Tripolia', you would enter the 'Elephant Gate' or the 'Hathi Pol'.

Lake palace of Udaipur:

The Lake Palace is located on the Jag Niwas Island and covers the whole of 1.5 hectare of the island in the middle of the Pichola Lake. The Lake palace was built in the 17th century on a natural foundation of 4 acers of rock. It was initially called Jaginwas after its founder Maharana Jagjit Singh.
