Eating in Kuching - Dinner at The Eatery, Sheraton Four Points

Sheraton Four Points is the latest hotel addition in Kuching, and Kuchingites have been making a beeline to the hotel to try out the food. The coffee house has created something of a buzz, with the biggest buffet spread in town. I've been wanting to try the food there for quite some time, and recently brought my family for the Ramadan Buffet.

The coffee house is called "The Eatery". Not a very inspired name, but the place is huge and the decor nice and modern. There are several cooking stations for different cuisines, and this is the first hotel coffee house in Kuching to feature a fully open kitchen concept.

The entrance to the coffee house.

The poster promoting the Ramadan Buffet. It costs RM69++, reasonable for Kuching standard.

The design of the coffee house is modern and spacious.

Various cooking stations.

Fresh prawns and mussels at the appetizer section. There are also some cold cuts.

A selection of local salads, including umai.

Nice choice of breads.

Specially for Ramadan, some middle-eastern appetizers.

And whole roasted lamb. This was really tender and very well seasoned.

Living up to the buzz, the buffet spread was really extensive with endless choices of appetizers, mains and deserts. The most impressive section was the desert station featuring very good quality deserts.

I must say I wasn't disappointed with the buffet at The Eatery. It offers endless selections, and the quality of the food was generally quite good. Another good venue for buffet in Kuching. If you have the Starwood Privilege Card, it is accepted here. Great !
