Masjid Agung ; Grand Mosque of Central Java

The Great mosque of Central Java is formed with a principle cluster model of Nabawi mosque in Madina. Architecture of this mosque is a blend of Javanese architecture, Arabic and Greek. It's former architectur is new composition model which taken from the guardians tradition with islamic universal architecture feature on center of the bulding, and also showing main dome which completed by spiky minaret which rise on mosque's fourth side.

Mosque and it's facilities located in Gajah Raya street, Sambirejo village, Gayamsari district, Semarang, central Java, Indonesia. Grand mosque of Semarang is located in Banda land which is 10 Ha in area and it can accommodate pilgrims about 13.000 person. Then, pages covering an area of 7500 m2 equipped with six giant umbrella that can open and close automatically as in the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, is able to accommodate 10 thousand pilgrims.


Besides this mosque building, its also completed by the others facilities such as official, courses and trining center, library (in left side), space for marriage contract and auditorium (in right side), and entertainment facilities, such as playground and train a rabbit that will take visitors around the mosque complex.For getting some funds, there are some store, official rent, hotels, and souvenir store.

Grand Mosque of Central Java, in addition to put up as a place of worship, also prepared as a religious tourist attraction. To support these goals, the Great Mosque is equipped with a guest house with 23 rooms capacity of various classes, so that the pilgrims who want to spend the night can take advantage of the facilities.


Another attraction of this mosque is Al Husna Tower 99 Meters height. The base of this tower there Dais ( Dakwah Islam : Propagation of Islam) Studio Radio. While on the 2nd floor and 3rd floor used as the Museum of Islamic Culture, and on the 18th floor there is Cafe Muslim who can rotate 360 degrees. On the floor 19 which is fitted to the tower view 5 binoculars that can see the city of Semarang. At the beginning of Ramadan 1427 H ago, binoculars in this mosque for the first time used to view helal as seen by the team Helal Rukyah Central Java using powerful binoculars from Boscha

This mosque is builded in 2001 until 2006, located in east Semarang, exactly. This mosque forming is from idealism and great aspiration ie this mosque can be controller and manager Economic social side which always forward secular and materialism. The mosque former is spent Rp. 198.692.340.000 .
