Malaga

Few visitors to Spain take the time to discover Malaga as they head from the airport down to their holiday resorts on the Costa Del Sol.
In doing so they miss a gem of a city with a fascinating old quarter next to a Roman theater and Moorish palace, a commercial center with first class shopping and a vibrant social life.

For package tourists there is a train which runs from Fuengirola to Malaga stopping in Benalmadena and Torremolines on the way to Malaga airport and Malaga city. It's only a little over 30 minutes between Fuengirola and Malaga and is a very convenient way to head into the city to spend a day or evening. Well worth the effort.

Airport Transfer

Malaga international airport lies 6km west of the city. Transfers to your final destination are available by bus, train, taxi and private transfer.

By Bus
Bus stops are outside Terminal 1 arrivals and Terminal 2 departures.
There are bus services every 30 minutes between the airport and Paseo del Parque in the center of Malaga.
From Malaga's central bus station there are services to all major destinations including Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Ronda. There are also regular Services to Marbella departing from the same bus stops.
By Train
There is a RENFE (http://www.renfe.es/) train station opposite Terminal 2 with regular services to Fuengirola (via Torremolinos and Arroyo de la Miel) and Malaga city centre. It is well signed inside the airport.
By Taxi
There's no shortage of taxis at Malaga airport. Approximate fares are as follows:

Weather

The Malaga weather is exactly what you would expect from a city on the Costa del Sol , sun, sun and more sun. It is one of the best, most reliable and healthiest climates in the world with more than 300 days of sunshine per year.During the winter the average daytime temperatures are generally about 16ºC and there can be some rainy days but it never lasts for long and skies are usually clear and sunny. There are occasional summer storms but these are over quickly. In the evening it can get a bit cool so a light jacket may be required.
